At Last
Tonight I have became one with the dark side of the muse. Whatever may come, whatever further trials I may face, I know that my life will never be the same.

- John Thompson tours internationally with Nicole Murray as "cloudstreet". He has performed on stages around the world for over 30 years. In his former life as a criminal-law barrister, John dazzled and amazed with his tales of high fiction. As part of the comedy duo, Never the Twain, John has hosted the Variety Breakfast at the past 8 Woodford Folk Festivals, with a stellar array of guests, including former Australian Prime Minister, Bob Hawke (who was persuaded to lead the crowd in a chorus of Solidarity Forever). John has lead teams to victory in the past three Woodford Great Debates. He maintains an active interest in politics, current events and the absurd. And he sings. When they are not travelling, John and Nicole live in the mountain town of Maleny in South-East Queensland. In January of 2008, John was discovered singing lonely love songs by a passing Spooky. They chatted and realised that they had much in common. They soon began to sing together and the dreadful spiral began. This blog tells the story of that beginning.
